Your Instagram Pictures On Your Nails… Yes, Really

If you’ve read my blog since I started, you know that nail stickers exist. They come in somewhat generic designs that someone else came up with. Ever dreamed of having a photo of your cat in nail sticker form to apply onto your nails? Now you can! In the works is a new iPhone app called Nail Snaps that takes your Instagram pictures and prints them into usable nail decals. Yes, that means a picture of your dog or your shoes or YOU on your nails.

The app doesn’t actually exist yet, it’s still in prototype mode and is currently raising money through Kickstarter to release the app to the public. The app is free and the nail stickers are made and distributed in Los Angeles. The way it works is you take a picture, position it any way you want on the virtual hand, then confirm, buy, and the nail stickers are printed and sent right to your door, as easy as that!

This awesome idea came from two women, Angel Anderson and Sarah Heering, both from Los Angeles. Their goal with Nail Snaps is to change the future of wearable, personal art. The app already has tons of media attention, so it’s not like this idea will totally fail. I think it’ll be a huge success and people everywhere will be wearing selfies or their favorite Tumblr photo on their nails (which actually brings up the concern of copyright issues, so I hope they have all that sorted out before people start printing off copyrighted work). I can’t wait for them to reach their funding goal so the app is released and I can try it out. Just imagine: a photo you took on your nails, and as easy to apply as nail stickers. No more messy water decals or expensive store brands!
